Bet Max

So I went to Las Vegas for a bachelor and bachelorette party.

I had never been and was looking forward to it. A number of people at my place of employ go to Vegas quite a bit and they were also extremely excited for me. I was only there for two days. Flew in on Saturday and left on Monday. I'm not very good at narrative writing so I think, like my Duluth trip, I will just give you some of the highlights.

- We stayed at the MGM Grand which was a gorgeous hotel. It was huge, it was ridiculous, it was garish. It was Vegas.

- On Saturday night, the bulk of the bachelor part of the weekend, we went to a gentleman's club and long story short I might be on the Playboy channel. I drank pretty much free that whole night which is awesome because if Vegas is one thing, it's espensive.

- We rode in an Escalade limo to said gentleman's club, which I'm told is cool. It just seemed like an SUV to me.

- Had lunch at Wolfgang Puck. $75

- We crashed the bachelorette party, and now there is a picture of me licking a giant inflatable penis. You will not be seeing that, by the by.

Vegas was pretty cool. It's a hard town to be in when you have to pay attention to how much money you are spending. I can see how it would be awesome with more disposable income, or if you are a gambler. The one really strange thing I did notice is that most people that were gambling did not look like they were having fun. I guess this mostly applies to slots, or video poker. You would walk by them and there faces were dead. It looked like they were just feeding the machine. Pushing the buttons was just something that they had to do. It was actually kind of eerie and really made me not want to gamble.

In conclusion, am glad I went but there are many other places I could have gone for the same amount of money that I think would be cooler.

Had I gone, I think I would have had the exact same experience. I would go just to be able to say I went, but that's it. Oh, and Penn and Teller do a show there that might be cool.

My casino reaction was the same. Dead faces staring at slot machines. I couldn't help but feel sorry for them, which tends to kill the buzz you're supposed to feel. I recall a woman win a bunch of money at some table of some sort. The chips piled high in front of her. And then she started losing and the dealer easily sweeping all those chips into a slot in the table. So long sucker.

Good buffet though.

I love Vegas, but I agree, you want to save up for a loonnnnggg time before you go there. I mostly loved the shopping/eating/gawking though. I also don't gamble, but I will wander around casinos/schmooze the help to get free drinks.

And only being there for 48 hours didn't leave much time for that.
