A short time ago my brother, dad and I went to a demo derby at the local county fair. I really believe this is the only true expression of the demo derby. If you go to a huge stadium and see one you are unlikely to get great pictures, or to get mud flung on you.
Look at his front tire. He kept driving like this until the engine finally gave up.
Oh yeah, they have a whole compact race, it's the best one out of the whole night. I took this one 'cause I had a VW Fox and had I been thinking I would have kept it just to enter in the demo derby.
The Coup De Grace. A broken driveshaft that was thrown off the track during a post heat clean-up.

I knew it was going to be good when the first car swung past us and we got dirt clods flung on us.
And the helmet the guy in the first picture was wearing is still awesome.
Cool pictures. I can't think of a better way for the male side of a family to bond.
