Boggle Boggle

ok so

Here is a quick synopsis of my turkey day. After much fanfare I decided to brine a turkey. I heard later that this is the Martha Stewart approved method, but I still like it.

I have recently borrowed some vinyl from my dad and was listening to this while I was getting the brine together. So just play this soundtrack in your head while you see the next couple pictures.

The turkey. An honest to goodness organic turkey from the local co-op. It was still way more turkey then was needed but post T-day sandwich's are awesome.

Here is my brine rig. It's a 4 gallon bucket lined with a garbage bag ( so I didn't have to wash it) sitting in a cooler (thanks to the 'rents for that.)

There is good ole Tom siting in the brine. 12 hours and then the magic happens.

After a couple hours in the oven, presto! one turkey done to perfection.

And Now we eat.

The turkey wasn't really anymore for flavorful for the brine, but it did keep it from drying out which was nice. So I would give the brine and cook method two thumbs up.
