One of the best things about records is how much time some artists put into the thing that the record comes in. One other fantastic example I can think of is Led Zeppelin's Coda, which had inner sleeves with water soluble paint printed on them. When you got them wet the sleeves went from black and white to color. I have seen records both before and after, but I've never actually seen someone get it wet.
Anyway...
Take a look at these pictures and marvel at the thought that went into them. I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures, my digital camera is kind of crappy.

Cool album art is one of the things we lost when records died. Tool is one of the few bands I can think of that did something really cool with CD packaging. The LP is just physically bigger, so it gives many more possibilities.
