When I put a spike into my vein

This video is my new drug of choice. I find myself waking up morning after morning with this song running through my head. Amy Winehouse is a Brit, and has a fairly heavy accent when she talks, but lordie can she sing. It makes me yearn for music that is this much fun.
Watch the back-up singers dance.
Classic.

I don't know if they are in this clip, but the backing band on her new CD are (or is?) The Dap Kings, of Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings fame.

I tried to get tickets for her upcoming show at the Varsity, but they appear to have sold out. After doing a little more research I have come to realize that she is quite popular, and that I have come to this party very late. This doesn't really bother me but just once I would like to know about something as soon as it happens, not after it's been happening for years, or months.

p.s. could she be any sexier?

Could she be any sexier? Yeah maybe if she wasn't a dude.

It's been a really good year for British female artists. Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Lady Sovereign...and to a lesser extent (in my opinion) Natasha Bedingfield and Joss Stone. I wonder why.

Whatever Derek. Not only is she a dude but he/she isn't even English. I have it on good authority that she was born Andrew Weinberg to Norm and Jeanette of Long Island. But little Andrew never fit in with the other boys at his Hebrew school. At 21 and against his father's wishes he ran off to Sweden where the initial operation was performed (there would be 6 in all). After a protracted healing process, Andy Weinberg (now called Amy Winehouse) moved to England and started over.
