When in Iceland I saw a band named Brazilian Girls, I had heard them a little on the radio and dug what they were doing. They were a superb live band. I got their first album for Christmas and it is my new obsession.
I have a Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 record that is the only thing I've heard before that comes close to the lushness of the sound.
You should all go listen to Brazilian Girls, right now. I realise that I am probably coming late to the Brazilian Girls party and that all the hipsters knew about them years ago, but I chock that up to not working at a record store anymore.

p.s. If you search for Brazilian Girls on YouTube you have to weed through all the soft-porn, so just be ready for that.
