It'a finally happened

So every year since 1998 I have been making mix tapes for my friends as end of the year presents. I made up a holiday called Kwanamas that (sort of) incorporates Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas. So really it should be spelled Kwanumas, or something, but whatever it's my holiday so I can spell it anyway I want.

Anyhoo...

I was working on the CD for this year and I finally had a song on the list that I had already used. In my defense it was one from the very first Kwanamas (which is the only one that is actually a tape) and it was Supernova, which is an awesome song that I recently re-fell-in-love with.

Here is the list for this year so far, in no particular order:

Radar Love - Golden Earring
Sunshine Lollipops - Lesley Gore
Hide & Seek - Imogen Heap
Such Great Heights - Iron & Wine
Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics
Sea of Love - Phil Phillips
Sugar Town - Nancy Sinatra
How Soon Is Now? - The Smiths
Cantina Song - Star Wars
This Is The Day - The The
Standing In The Way Of Control - The Gossip
I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

If any of the four people that read this have any suggestions I would love to hear them. I'm starting to have trouble thinking of enough awesome songs to fill a whole CD.

Supernova is a good song. I would dare say that the first Kwanamas is still my favorite.

Once Again (Here to Kick One for You) -- Handsome Boy Modeling School feat. Grand Puba and Sadat X

It's old, but I think it's awesome.

I just read through your list again...I almost suggested "Standing in the Way of Control", which means I can't read, apparently.

a) list sounds wonderful so far.

b) go here:

and submit "Kwanamas" into their mixtape generator. it would be interesting to see what war tunes they would give a prompt like that.
